CE Mark – User Safety
The CE symbol indicates that the product meets EU standards for health, safety, and environmental protection. Balloons with the CE mark comply with the so-called Toys Directive, which is particularly important when buying balloons for children.
Pump Icon – Safe Inflation
This mark informs that balloons should be inflated only using a pump. Blowing up balloons with the mouth by children can lead to choking or loss of consciousness. Proper inflation is a matter of safety – also for adults.
0–8 Mark – Age Restrictions
Symbols with a crossed-out child and an age indication (e.g., “0–8”) mean that the product is not suitable for children in the specified age range. For latex balloons, it is recommended not to allow use by children under 8 years of age.
Balloon in Mouth Icon – Health Warning
The symbol of a child putting a balloon in their mouth (usually crossed out) warns against inhaling helium or air from the balloon. Such practice can result in oxygen deprivation, dizziness, or even loss of consciousness. This warning is especially important for parents and caregivers.
Recycling Marks – PP (5) and LDPE (4)
Markings such as PP (5) – polypropylene and LDPE (4) – low-density polyethylene indicate the material from which the packaging is made. They enable proper waste segregation. Not every municipality processes these plastics, so it’s worth checking local recycling rules.
Green Dot Mark – Packaging Recovery System
The symbol of two green arrows forming a circle means that the manufacturer participates in a packaging recovery and recycling system. It does not mean the packaging is made from recycled materials, but that the company financially supports organizations involved in collecting and processing them.

Tidyman Mark – Responsible Behavior
The figure throwing waste into a bin is known as the Tidyman mark. It is not a recycling symbol but an appeal for order and care for the environment. As a balloon manufacturer, we encourage disposing of packaging in a manner consistent with cultural and ecological principles.
Symbols on balloon packaging are not just small graphics – they are important guidelines worth understanding. They facilitate safe product use, support waste segregation, and help protect children’s health. Detailed articles dedicated to each of these markings will soon appear on our blog.
